Service Description

We will meet at Laguna de Santa Rosa Regional Park parking lot at the North Kelly Farm Trailhead and stroll the well-made paths through the fields and marshes of a historic lake. The focus of this walk will be the hydrology of the region in relation to the geology, the aquifers at depth, how humans have modified and land and hydrology, and how natural disasters may influence the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Learn about the formation of the landscape, the rocks and faults in the surrounding land, and how this land will continue to change in the near & distant future. EASY WALK: This location have been chosen for its easy paths and beautiful expansive views. We will explore the Kelly Farm Trail, walking approximately 2 miles, and experience grades of 1-5%. -Participants pay for their own parking pass for the Sonoma County Regional Park -Each participant must sign up under their own Appreciating Earth member account -This even may be canceled (with refund) if the weather is inclement
